Want to help a Community focussed, family oriented sports club promote itself online? We would love the help of someone who is excellent on Social Media and can help with promoting the club along with local business and associated charities.
What difference will you make?
We are hoping that by enhancing our social media presence, and delivering a more consistent and defined online presence, we will be able to Encourage more people to play hockey, and hence improve their own mental and physical well-being Promote the work our sponsors, and our associated linked charities (Ordinary Magic and Meningitis Now amongst other) do - hopefully this will lead to increased exposure/awareness for them, and potentially more new sponsors for us, helping to make sport more affordable for everyone. Build a wider community and a longer term attachment to the club to support social events, fundraising etc.
What are we looking for?
Ideally someone who has experience in using Instagram and other digital platforms and social media applications to promote a sports club. Very happy for someone to use the club as a "pet project" as we do not have any definitive approaches confirmed, and are happy to take any suggestions or ideas. Ideally the person would live close to Knowle / Solihull, and be available to occasionally come to the site. Also advantageous would be someone who is comfortable taking digital photos, and creating graphics for our accounts, and hopefully has an interest in sport (though hockey is not a must, but it would be great if the person did have an interest in hockey!)
What will you be doing?
We are hoping someone can help us by helping to develop and deliver a marketing strategy for social media (and potentially other options) to help us grow the number of members we have. We have multiple formats and days on which hockey is played, and we would envisage the delivery of this marketing to include image capture (photography and video, though we do already have a bank of images, and also film a lot of our home games) and then weekly and activity related posts across our social accounts, though with a focus on local Facebook groups, and our 3 Instagram accounts. We are also open to the use of TikTok and other platforms deemed appropriate. We would need the volunteer supporting us to have a clean DBS check, be happy to work on their own initiative, but also consult with members of the committee around strategy and tactics, and be able to visit the site (The Silhillians Sports Club, B93 9LW) when needed - though we would not imagine this would be more than once a month, unless the person wanted to come along more regularly.
