about the role
The successful candidate will report to the FPS HR Manager. This role will primarily take a lead on HR activities supporting stakeholders in the Operations, Engineering, Projects and Integrity functions based. In addition to this the post-holder will support a range of HR activities across the business.
What does the day to day look like?
* Develop and deliver professional, fit for purpose HR consultancy solutions for managers, team leaders and employees on all people related issues to ensure the business has a capable motivated and committed workforce to deliver the business objectives.
* Develop and deliver day to day front line HR operational solutions ensuring that policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently across the site/business.
* Develop and communicate policies and procedures and ensure compliance with legislative updates.
* Coach and support managers and team leaders in all performance management topics (discipline, grievance, capability, appraisals, upward feedback, absence mgt.) within their asset / function to set performance standards in line with the business requirements / legal compliance.
* Support management reviews of local T&Cs and reward mechanisms.
* Support Line Managers through the annual bonus and salary review cycle.
* Co-ordinate resourcing requirements for portfolio areas, liaising with a central recruitment team on immediate needs and recruitment strategies.
* Provide advice and guidance on occupational health referrals, absence management issues and return to work cases to managers.
* Support Learning & Development plans for the asset (in conjunction with L&D manager), aimed at addressing competency gaps and building functional and behavioural capability.
* Management and maintenance of HR Systems including HR Information System and excel trackers in MS Sharepoint.
* Represent HR interests at monthly Trade Union/Management meeting.
* HR Representative, taking a proactive lead role in the company’s physical and mental wellbeing initiative; ‘Thrive’
* The role is based in Grangemouth but requires some travel to various site locations including Dalmeny
* The role is primarily office based, and the accountabilities could be designed to operate on either a full time or part-time basis.
what do I need?
* Seasoned HR professional, degree qualified, preferable with membership of CIPD
* Previous experience at HR Business Partner level preferably gained in the Oil and Gas or manufacturing sector
* Established expertise in all HR generalist areas (employee engagement, reward, well-being, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, manpower planning etc.)
* Ideally the candidate will have acquired experience of industrial relations and working with collectively represented groups.
* Good HRMS knowledge/Reporting skills
* Strong UK Employment law knowledge and best practice
* Intermediate Excel and Powerpoint user with the ability to manipulate large data sets and present for Board packs
* The ability to make sound judgements and wise decisions based on evaluating data and deciding on a course of action
* Excellent coaching, facilitation and communication skills at all levels – ability to influence effectively
* Strong stakeholder focus and ability to build excellent relationships across multiple teams
* The ability to work autonomously, flexibly and be a strong team player
