Leader Education are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join specialist schools in the Boston Spa area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with children and young people with complex learning needs, helping them thrive both academically and socially.
About the Role
You will be working closely with teachers and support staff to ensure every pupil has the opportunity to succeed. Pupils may have a variety of needs, including:
* Communication and social interaction challenges
* Sensory processing difficulties
* Physical or medical needs
* Complex learning difficulties
Personal care duties will be part of this role, providing vital day-to-day support for pupils.
What you’ll do:
* Work with pupils 1:1 or in small groups to support learning and development
* Encourage independence and confidence in all areas of school life
* Help pupils access lessons using tailored strategies and resources
* Support communication through tools such as Makaton, PECS, or visual aids
* Adapt your approach to suit the unique needs of each pupil

You don’t need formal SEND experience – a passion for helping children and a patient, proactive attitude is most important. Candidates from backgrounds in:
* Care or Health & Social Care
* Youth Work
* Psychology or Education
* Creative Arts or Sport
