About the Role: The school is seeking a highly analytical, organised and proactive Data Manager to oversee all aspects of data collection, analysis, reporting and compliance. This is a key role for someone who thrives in an environment where precision matters, where deadlines must be met reliably, and where systems must be maintained to the highest standard. You will manage the school’s MIS, assessment data, statutory returns, reporting cycles and internal dashboards. You will support Senior Leadership with performance analysis, student progress tracking and strategic decision-making. This role requires exceptional accuracy, strong IT skills, confidentiality and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of staff. Key Responsibilities: • Manage and maintain the school MIS, ensuring accurate data entry, updates, and functionality. • Oversee all assessment points, reporting windows and data collection cycles. • Produce performance reports for SLT, Heads of Department, pastoral leads and governors. • Analyse student progress, behaviour, attendance and attainment data using advanced reporting tools. • Ensure compliance with DfE requirements, including census returns and statutory submissions. • Support teachers and leaders with data interpretation, enabling informed teaching and intervention. • Develop and maintain dashboards, spreadsheets, automated reports and tracking systems. • Liaise with external agencies, exam boards and IT providers to ensure cohesive data arrangements. • Support the timetabling process, class groupings and student set allocations. • Maintain high standards of confidentiality in line with GDPR and safeguarding expectations. • Train staff on data processes, MIS functions, reporting protocols and assessment systems. • Troubleshoot technical or data-related issues quickly and effectively. Requirements: • Strong experience with school data systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or similar). • High-level analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail. • Ability to prioritise competing deadlines and manage high-volume tasks. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain data clearly to non-specialists. • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting, data modelling). • A problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure with accuracy. • Understanding of DfE census, safeguarding, GDPR and statutory reporting.
