Lead Product Owner to join our eCommerce Development team. Based from NEXT Head Office in Enderby, Leicestershire with a competitive salary range and benefits including company bonus, staff discount and more.
About The Role: The Development team works to improve our websites and mobile apps to deliver a seamless and engaging shopping experience. You will be the definitive product leader for NEXT eCommerce’s mobile ecosystem, owning the end-to-end product lifecycle for our native iOS or Android applications. You will execute a world-class mobile strategy that delivers measurable business value and a high-performing experience for millions of customers, guiding a cross-functional team and balancing commercial goals with technical feasibility.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Strategic Product Leadership:
o Define, champion and own the product roadmap for the NEXT and Total Platform Mobile Apps, ensuring features drive commercial growth and retail excellence.
* Prioritisation and Value Delivery:
o Own the product backlog and prioritise initiatives to deliver value at pace in collaboration with the Product Channel Manager.
* Stakeholder Alignment and Communication:
o Engage with senior internal stakeholders to capture business needs, manage expectations and communicate product initiatives and risks.
* Data-Driven Decision Making:
o Establish and track core Mobile App performance, product health and eCommerce KPIs (e.g., conversion, retention, crash-free sessions); use analytics and customer feedback to validate hypotheses and inform product decisions.
* Empowering the Team:
o Lead daily product efforts, guiding the development team (Developers, QA, BAs) through Agile/SCRUM ceremonies and ensure clarity in requirements, driving team progress and motivation.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven hands-on experience as a Product Owner within the retail or eCommerce sector.
* A solid understanding of the mechanics of online trading and customer shopping behaviours.
* Thought leader in digital space with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
* Ability to quickly identify issues or risks and implement solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into commercial updates for diverse audiences.
* A passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change.
* Excellent analytical skills and an evidence-based approach to defining success supported by data.
* Extensive experience in Agile environments and SCRUM methodologies to deliver value at pace.
* Highly motivated and hardworking, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
* Google for business / Microsoft Office proficient.
* Desirable but not essential: experience using Agile tools such as ADO, JIRA or similar.
