We are looking for enthusiastic, resourceful and forward-thinking people and are excited to be recruiting Support Workers to support JOSD and BROP within our service in Leedstown. ​ About the Role: This role requires a driver with a full UK manual driving licence, as driving the mobility vehicle is an essential part of supporting the individuals. It is also beneficial to get to the service due to limited public transport being available. The people we support enjoy getting out in the community visiting cafes for a coffee, visiting supermarkets for their weekly shop and enjoying walks around the Cornish coast. JOSD has a diagnosis of autism and epilepsy, for which he takes regular prescribed medication. He is a bright and intelligent individual who communicates his wants, choices, likes, and dislikes clearly and confidently though M akaton and showing what he wants, he benefits from regular reassurance to ensure he feels confident that he is completing tasks correctly and making sensible decisions. BROP has a diagnosis of autism and also takes regular medication. He communicates well with Makaton and would benefit from someone who can be calm and patient in their understanding. Family relationships are very important to them. They enjoy spending time with family, who are actively involved, positive, and highly supportive, while also encouraging their independence and autonomy. The ideal support worker will be reliable, patient, and reassuring, with a genuine interest in promoting independence, supporting decision ‑ making, and enabling them to continue enjoying an active and fulfilling lifestyle centered around their interests. About the usual working pattern: ​ 18 hours per week Waking night from 22.00-07.00 To be discussed at interview.
