Experience
Essential criteria
13. 4 years post qualification basic experience
14. 2 years recent experience at Band 5 within an adult acute care speciality (ITU / HDU or CCU / ED / High Care area with proven competency based critical care experience.
15. Evidence of ability to manage staff
16. Transfer of Critically ill patient
Desirable criteria
17. Experience with developing nursing practice.
18. Previous Band 6 experience
19. Previous Outreach Experience
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential criteria
20. Ability to care for a level 1b, 2 or 3 patient with no immediate supervision in a ward / ED setting.
21. Ability to teach and supervise junior colleagues and students.
22. Epidural guidance and expertise • PCA guidance and expertise
23. Excellent clinical skills
Desirable criteria
24. Ability to undertake extended physical skills such as ABG sampling
25. Previous experience or involvement in research/audit projects.
26. IRMER training
Knowledge
Essential criteria
27. Ability to provide expert advice on CPAP and NIV.
28. Effective communication skills.
29. Communicate with patients, relatives and carers sensitive clinical information in a way that takes into account the level of understanding and any barriers that may have an impact on the individual receiving and understanding the information, face to face and via the telephone on a frequent daily basis.
