Job Description
At Heathrow, we're all about giving our passengers the ultimate airport experience Our Security Patrollers are the unsung heroes, always ready to go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels safe and welcome. They take pride in their work, providing top-notch service while keeping things secure and running smoothly.
As a Security Protection Officer, you'll be at the heart of our operations, maintaining high standards of security and protection. Our team of Security Patrollers roams all the land-side areas of Heathrow, and jumps into action airside whenever needed.
This role is all about connecting with people – you'll be interacting with passengers, internal teams, third parties, law enforcement, government agencies, and other airport operators. It's a dynamic job that keeps you on your toes and makes every day different
This is a site-based role operating on a rotating shift pattern, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic Heathrow environment. This role is based across all terminals and flexibility is required.
Your role will involve
* Patrolling our terminals and surrounding areas to ensure buildings are secure and potential risks identified and minimised
* Providing reassurance to our passengers and colleagues by being a visible Security presence
* Ensuring early detection following Heathrow's behavioural detection protocols
* Developing good working relationships with Team Heathrow, Law Enforcement, and other stakeholders across our Terminals
* Liaising with health and safety escalations including Medic calls, Police, HTC, and fire evacuations and critical incidents
These Skills Are Essential
* Ability to quickly build rapport with others and connect with the wide variety of people who make up our airport community
* Excellent observational skills, with an eye for detail and a curiosity to examine situations and issues to a successful resolution, knowing instinctively when to escalate further or not
* Patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
* Passion for service and support
