Overview:
We're looking for an experienced Banqueting Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food for weddings, conferences, and private events at a prestigious luxury hotel in Horsham. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who thrives in high-volume environments without compromising on quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality banqueting operations
Lead the banqueting kitchen team during event prep and service
Plan, prep, and execute event menus to the highest standards
Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation
Work closely with the events and F&B teams to ensure smooth delivery
Manage stock levels, minimise waste, and control food costs
Train and motivate junior kitchen staff
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience in banqueting or high-volume luxury catering
Organised, efficient, and thrives under pressure
Passionate about food presentation and consistency
Strong leadership and communication skills
Excellent understanding of event service logistics
Financially aware with experience in cost control and GP margins
