As a Full Time (35 Hours) Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse at HMP Highdown, you’ll play a vital part in delivering high-quality clinical assessment and treatment to individuals with substance dependency, supporting recovery in a challenging yet highly rewarding environment.You’ll work in close partnership with HM Prison Service and a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care that meets the highest professional standards.What you’ll be doing: Delivering high-quality clinical assessments and tailored treatment plans for drug and alcohol users Managing your own caseload with autonomy, accountability, and professionalism Providing safe and effective medication management, including risk-based decision making Leading on risk assessments across high-risk areas, including safeguarding and illicit drug use Promoting health and wellbeing, supporting complex physical and psychological needs Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care What you’ll bring: Registered Nurse with a strong understanding of the NMC Code of Conduct Experience or strong interest in substance misuse services Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team Confidence managing sensitive information with empathy and professionalism A proactive approach to risk management and patient safetyThis is more than a clinical role.
