About Us - National Trauma Transformation Programme

Job Details

You will be part of an integrated team which supports people who are not benefiting from the supports offered by mainstream substance use services.

You will work 36 hours per week, and be entitled to work flexibly in line with Fife Council policies.

You will be based at Whyteman's Brae, but must be able to travel throughout Fife in order to meet the needs of the service.

You will undertake professional supervision of Newly Qualified Social Workers (to three years post qualifying) and Social Work Assistants supporting their professional development and ensuring Council policy and procedures are followed. Mentoring new social workers to the team during their induction period who are not within three years post qualifying. Prioritise, attend and contribute to staff meetings and service development sessions including reflective practice and peer supervision sessions.

You will hold a small but complex caseload, provide practice advice to the team, and undertake delegated tasks to support the team manager.

The Person

* The ability to demonstrate effective leadership whilst demonstrating kindness
* The ability to share knowledge, provide guidance and support to others relating to substance use and trauma responsive social work
* Organisational skills
* Confident in the management of risk and decision making
* Professionally resilient, and able to work as part of an integrated team.
* A qualified social worker with at least 2-years post qualifying experience and the ability to register with the SSSC.
* You must hold a postgraduate qualification or equivalent post-qualifying experience.
* You must be able to travel throughout Fife to accommodate the needs of the service

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.

If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.

If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
