Purpose of Position
Data sits at the heart of the company. As a BI Developer, you will be part of a team that helps to shape the future of reporting across the company. Your responsibility is to help provide best in class solutions to allow client facing departments to better understand performance and provide insightful recommendations to their clients. You will also support internal reporting requirements to help drive the business forward.
Within the role, you proactively seek exchange with members across the wider BI department as well as the stakeholders you are creating reports for.
You will be expected to work within an agile framework to ensure that as a department we are responding to our stakeholders requirements as efficiently as possible.
Key Tasks
* Collaborates closely with the Data Product Manager (Product Owner) and cross-functional squad members to design, develop, and maintain Custom Data Extracts (CDEs) that meet the evolving needs of internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring data accuracy, performance, and usability in an Agile development environment.
* Translates business requirements into scalable and performant CDE solutions, including data extraction logic, transformation rules, and delivery mechanisms.
* Maintains documentation of data definitions, extract logic, and delivery schedules to ensure transparency, repeatability, and ease of maintenance.
* Supports the development of self-serve data capabilities by creating scalable, reusable CDEs and collaborating with stakeholders to enable access through user-friendly tools and interfaces, reducing dependency on manual report requests.
* Communicates any delays in the process in a timely manner.
* Facilitates ad-hoc data requests across the group through accessing the data warehouse.
* Supports colleagues and local markets with data projects and assistance.
* Provides assistance to junior data analysts where required.
* Works within an agile framework.
* Implements version control, testing, and peer review practices to ensure high data quality and reliability of developed reports.
Skills & Expertise
* At least 2+ years in Business Intelligence, Business Analysis or account management.
* Experience in data analysis, data modeling and working with large databases.
* Strong understanding of T-SQL and Python.
* Experience of business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, Reporting Services) is desirable but not essential.
* Some knowledge of online/media or similar fast moving technology based industry. Knowledge of affiliate marketing is not essential but there will be a requirement to become familiar with the business model as soon as possible. Full training will be offered.
* Fluent English and basic knowledge of another language is desirable.
* Strong thought leadership and a desire to constantly look for new methodologies and innovations.
* Confidence to advise internal and external stakeholders on their current strategies.
* Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work with potentially fast changing team priorities.
* Proactive approach to tasks and challenges.
* Addressing needs for help for themselves and for more junior team members if needed.
