Production Controller
We’re looking for a Production Controller to join our Operations team. Alongside managing the flow of production from order receipt through to dispatch, this role carries significant responsibility for buying materials, managing suppliers, and ensuring the business has the right stock at the right time.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take ownership of purchasing raw materials, components, and consumables in line with demand, production plans, and inventory targets
2. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, reliable service, and consistent material availability
3. Source alternative suppliers and materials when shortages, quality issues, or cost pressures arise
4. Raise purchase orders, monitor open orders, and proactively expedite to protect production schedules
5. Review supplier performance and escalate risks that may impact cost, quality, or delivery
6. Schedule materials and manage replenishment using ERP/MRP systems
7. Coordinate manufacturing plans and release route cards on time
8. Oversee stock control, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate, real‑time inventory records
9. Support new product introductions by identifying material requirements, sourcing new parts, and managing run‑in/run‑out of existing stock
10. Communicate material availability, risks, and production updates to Sales, Planning, and wider teams
What We’re Looking For:
11. Strong organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills
12. Experience in buying, production control, or wider supply chain coordination
13. Confident user of computerised systems (ERP/MRP) with a focus on maintaining clean, accurate data
14. A proactive communicator with strong negotiation skills and excellent attention to detail
