HM Naval Base Devonport, Plymouth Job Summary The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is a part of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in-service support, and disposal of the UK’s nuclear submarines. Our work is of unparalleled strategic importance nationally and internationally, ensuring the security of the UK’s Continuous At-Sea Nuclear Deterrent (CASD), and delivering some of the most technically complex programmes in Defence. At least one of four nuclear-armed submarines, supported by smaller attack submarines, is on patrol at all times: 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Job Description This is a unique opportunity to work as part of the Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP) within the contract management team. You will be joining a high performing multi-functional team, ensuring delivery of contract governance to support Project Managers and their teams in the delivery of a complex portfolio of projects for In-Service Submarines at Devonport. The team consists of Project Managers and Engineers, one of which provides support on Project Safety, and a dedicated Project Security Officer. Additional responsibilities include working to a tight timeline of events to ensure the contractor provides monthly data to support project progress. You will work closely with our main contractor Babcock to ensure they provide clear deliverables that align to the project timelines, the associated costs and expected quality, as defined within the contract. We Are Seeking a Skilled Junior Project Manager With a Proven Track Record In Stakeholder Management. In This Role, You Will: Be responsible for overseeing the contract, ensuring compliance, and developing / maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders. Your ability to manage expectations, build trust, and communicate effectively with diverse groups will be essential in driving successful outcomes. Co-ordinate multi-disciplinary functions to deliver projects within the FMSP contract governance framework demonstrating the ability to lead as a future manager. Develop control and provide project documentation to support the delivery of project specific outputs within an established baseline; measuring progress via monthly drumbeats and taking corrective action. Support an open, honest, no blame culture; proactively highlighting failures and shortfalls to all Stakeholders and advising on LFE (Learning From Experience) or mitigations. Ensure your own compliance by having a clear understanding of your responsibilities in managing the projects and how this aligns within the broader governance framework. Conduct internal and external stakeholder analysis to identify and understand stakeholder requirements, interests and influences, or support in the development of these elements. Understand and demonstrate the contractual obligations and the role of suppliers to meet a project's requirements Understand how to manage risk, assumptions, issues, dependencies and opportunities for simple projects, or support in the development of these elements for larger projects; proactively engaging with all the Professions. Maintain project delivery within defined parameters through effective liaison with project controls colleagues. Proactively ensure the development of your personal development Hybrid and flexible working can be considered for this post but will need regular workplace attendance at an expected ratio of 60/40 due to security constraints.
