The position plays a key role in producing accurate monthly management accounts, weekly financial and operational performance dashboards, and robust cashflow reporting, while maintaining strong financial controls and supporting audit readiness

Description
The Management Accountant will be responsible for;
Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, and variance analysis with clear and concise explanations of the key drivers.
Support the preparation of board packs by delivering accurate, timely, and well-explained financial data.
Provide commentary and insight to explain movements, trends, and risks across the business.
Commercial insights including translating operational metrics into financial impact, articulate pricing, churn, retention analysis, and identifying improvement opportunities
Maintain accounting reconciliations and supporting schedules to ensure clean and timely month end close.
Support the maintenance and documentation of finance policies, processes, and internal controls.
Assist with approval controls, payment authorisation workflows, and A/P timing oversight.
Support audit readiness and liaise with external advisors where required under FC direction.
Continuous improvement of control environment and processes as the business grows Cashflow, Working Capital Support
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of a rolling cashflow forecast.
Support weekly cash reporting, liquidity monitoring, and working capital analysis.
Assist with debtor management, DSO reporting, and auction or recovery tracking.
Provide analysis to support minimum liquidity and cash discipline requirements. Business Partnering & Operational Support
Support internal reporting requirements across teams and sites.
Provide data and analysis to support decision-making by senior leadership.
Assist with budgets and forecasts
Profile
A Successful Management Accountant Should Have
A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of financial reporting and management accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
Experience in the transport & distribution industry is advantageous.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Job Offer
