Proposed salary range: Up to £53,100 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

BBC News Northern Ireland provides breaking news, analysis, features and debate across all platforms. This role supports daily news programming on TV and Radio and helps shape content for local audiences and beyond.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* Lead daily production meetings in your output area and assign tasks to journalists, reporters and researchers.
* Commission output for your production area and deploy resources cost‑effectively, providing forward planning and production support.
* Motivate teams to think creatively, respond quickly to breaking news and support junior staff members to grow and develop.
* Contribute to the production of original journalism.
* Deal with complex legal and editorial issues.
Essential Criteria
* Possess strong news judgement, decision making skills and experience operating calmly under pressure.
* Be a creative storyteller with passion for original journalism that sets the news agenda and gets people talking.
* Be a resilient self‑starter with in‑depth knowledge of politics, cultural life and domestic/foreign news.
* Have understanding of the changing media landscape with digital storytelling at the forefront.
* Write clear, concise copy that can run across all outlets.
Desired But Not Required
* Experience in managing people and good interpersonal communication skills.
* A track record in delivering original journalism.
* Knowledge of our audience needs, commitment to diversity and inclusion.
* Experience using audience insight tools to measure engagement.
* Understanding of how audiences operate in a digital space.
