Job Title: HR Advisor
Rate: per hour (inside IR35, via umbrella company)
Hours: Full time OR hours per week days) – flexible, full days within 08:30–17:00
Contract Length: 6 weeks initially, with potential for extension
Start Date: ASAP
Working Arrangement: Hybrid – minimum two days away from home (office or meetings). Initially mostly office-based to support induction
Job Overview:
This is a short-term, opportunity to join the HR team, providing professional advice, support, and guidance across a range of HR activities. The role involves shaping policy, supporting employee relations, and helping maintain a positive and effective HR service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide professional advice, support, and training on HR matters within legislative and policy frameworks
2. Promote a positive image of the HR service to internal and external customers
3. Influence and support the development of employment and performance management culture
4. Contribute to HR strategy and policy development across the service
Candidate Requirements:
5. Significant experience as a generalist operational HR advisor, handling employee relations at all levels
6. Experience working in HR within a Local Authority or other public sector organisation
7. Able to work effectively in a hybrid environment, initially office-based to support induction
8. Flexible part-time hours across full days per week
