We have an exciting and unique opportunity to join a flagship new venture at John Leggott College.
Are you passionate about shaping the lives of young people? Do you have the skills to tutor, and inspire learners? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
The Pastoral Support and Engagement Coordinator will play a leading role in our brand-new Home Education Hub, supporting home-educated students as they begin their journey with us. This is a flagship initiative, the first of its kind delivered in this way and we are looking for someone who can contribute confidently to establishing and shaping this new area.
This is a relationship-driven role that blends pastoral support with academic guidance. The postholder will:
1. Provide 1:1 and small-group tutoring in core subjects (English, Maths)
2. Guide students to understand their learning styles and study strategies
3. Shape and develop personalised timetables and learning plans
4. Track progress, record achievements, and liaise closely with tutors, families, and support staff
5. Help drive and shape this new provision with enthusiasm, professionalism, and creativity
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, energetic, and relationship-centred, and who is excited by the chance to lead and grow a new area. You will be part of a supportive team, while also having the freedom to help shape how this hub evolves, making a real difference and ensuring every young person has the chance to thrive.
Strong communication skills, the ability to build trust, and a genuine passion for supporting diverse learners are essential.
