NHS Grampian is advertising 2 WTE band 6 Hyper Acute Stroke Nurses at Dr Grays Hospital in Elgin, with hours by negotiation. With support from the Scottish government, there is funding for a test of change for 18 months to support the development of stroke services within Moray.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in Stroke to primarily support the Emergency Department, ensuring patients follow the Stroke pathway in a timely manner to improve outcomes.
* Support the Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA) service and provide outreach of patients admitted outside the Stroke ward.
* Support the Stroke ward in the absence of the ANP and deliver education sessions in collaboration with the Stroke Educator and ANP.
* Support the trial of Clopidogrel resistance testing at point of care.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Qualified nurse with an interest in stroke who wishes to expand knowledge and clinical skills; supportive of role-specific training and development.
Interview process
We are planning interviews for the post on 30 September 2025. A 5-minute presentation on Hyper-acute Stroke Care will be part of the interview process.
