Paralegal (In-House)
Location: Newcastle
Contract: 6-month FTC, 4 days per week
Salary: £53,000 FTE pro rata
We are working with a global, technology-led business operating in the construction sector. They provide data, software, and insights that help organisations make better commercial decisions across projects, procurement, and supply chains.
They are now looking for a Paralegal to join their in-house legal team on a fixed-term basis to support a busy period of commercial activity and ongoing legal work across the business.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a grounding in legal work who wants broad exposure across commercial contracts, data protection, and general in-house legal support in a fast-paced, business-facing environment.
The role
You will support the in-house legal function with a wide range of work, including:
* Reviewing and drafting commercial agreements, including NDAs, supplier contracts, and customer terms
* Supporting contract management and day-to-day legal queries from internal teams
* Assisting with GDPR and data protection matters, including internal compliance processes
* Helping maintain legal templates, documentation, and contract records
* Working closely with business teams to provide clear, practical legal guidance
* Supporting external counsel where required
This is a hands-on role where you will be closely embedded in the business and exposed to a wide variety of legal and commercial issues.
About you
We are open to a range of backgrounds, including:
* Legal assistants, paralegals, or legal specialists with commercial experience
* Early-career solicitors looking for broad in-house exposure
* Candidates with experience in contracts, compliance, or data protection in a business environment
You will ideally have:
* Some experience reviewing or working with commercial contracts
* An interest in data protection, GDPR, or commercial law
* Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to workload
* Good communication skills and confidence working with non-legal stakeholders
* A practical, solutions-focused mindset
Formal qualification as a solicitor is not essential for this role.
