We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join a busy and supportive payroll team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established payroll bureau on a 9 -month fixed-term contract, where you’ll take full ownership of your own client portfolio. You’ll enjoy real variety and responsibility, managing weekly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls across a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls
Administer pension auto-enrolment and ensure compliance with current legislation
Act as the main point of contact for client payroll queries, delivering excellent service
Provide expert advice on payroll matters including tax, NI, and pension schemes
Ensure timely and accurate RTI submissions and statutory reporting to HMRC
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in a high-volume payroll bureau, ideally within an accountancy practice
Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and auto-enrolment
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Xero, BrightPay, Sage) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
