UK Power Networks Services is recruiting a skilled Operational Engineer to help deliver high‑profile construction and maintenance projects across private and DNO networks. What you'll do:
Lead and support construction & maintenance activities from 11/33kV down to LV systems
Work closely with Engineers, Technicians, Apprentices and Contractors
Oversee substation & cabling projects with a focus on safety and efficiency
Troubleshoot faults, commission systems, and ensure compliance with safety rules
Coordinate daily works, manage contractors, and drive continuous improvement
Represent UKPNS in client and contractor meetings
What you'll bring:
Authorised Person status up to 11kV
ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
Strong understanding of HV distribution systems
Excellent planning, analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Full UK driving licence
Bonus points for:
HNC Electrical Engineering, NEBOSH, AP up to 33kV, and knowledge of CDM Regulations.
