Join our team at Regan Veterinary Group, Little Lane in Wigan, as a Veterinary Surgeon – with work-life balance in mind. Salary up to £65k (dependent on experience), a 4-day week, no out-of-hours, and just 1 in 4 Saturdays. We are open to job shares, family-friendly hours, or relocation for the right candidate. Wigan offers easy transport links to Manchester, Liverpool, and Leeds.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon with sole charge experience, who wants to grow in a supportive, well-established practice with flexibility that fits real life. There are opportunities locally for our practice to grow, with a management team including an Ophthalmology and a Surgical Advanced Practitioner who will support you in your role.
About the practice
Our friendly and supportive team combines first-opinion care with Advanced Practitioner-led referral services across surgery, ophthalmology, imaging, and medicine. The practice is well-equipped (including laparoscopy, operating microscope, and advanced orthopaedic/soft tissue kit) and values thorough case workups, strong client relationships, and a pragmatic, client-sensitive approach.
Responsibilities
* Provide veterinary care with sole-charge responsibility where applicable, within a collaborative team
* Contribute to the growth and development of services in a multi-disciplinary practice
* Engage with management and colleagues to support patient care and client communication
* Participate in regular clinical meetings and quality improvement initiatives
* Maintain high standards of clinical reasoning, record-keeping, and evidence-based medicine
Qualifications and experience
* Sole charge experience required or demonstrated capability
* Interest in developing within a progressive, multi-disciplinary environment
