Atrium Global is recruiting on behalf of a leading global technology client for an
Acoustic Research Engineer
to join their world-class audio research team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to ground-breaking research in virtual and augmented reality, working in one of the most advanced acoustic laboratories in the world.
You will support a pioneering research team focused on creating virtual sounds indistinguishable from reality and redefining human hearing. This is a hands-on role involving acoustic measurement, data processing, perception experiments, and tool development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop systems, user interfaces, and protocols for acoustic and behavioural data acquisition and processing using Python, MATLAB, and MaxMSP.
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary researchers to integrate data acquisition and processing algorithms into research platforms.
* Perform acoustic data collection using complex capture systems, prototype devices, and human subjects in controlled laboratory environments.
* Write technical reports to document research outcomes and methodologies.
REQUIREMENTS
* Master's degree (or PhD) in a relevant technical field with
3+ years of industry experience
in audio technology development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Proven experience designing and conducting
audio/acoustic experiments in controlled laboratory environments
.
* Strong understanding and
hands-on experience in audio signal processing
.
* 3+ years of programming experience
with
Python and/or MATLAB
for audio applications.
* Solid knowledge of acoustics and experimental audio measurement.
