Overview
With more than 150 years of industry-leading experience, the SGX packaging group unites the SGX and SGK brands to deliver packaging graphics, plate and cylinder production, and metal deco services to brand owners, retailers, and printers. This senior position, Senior Launch Delivery Manager (Senior LDM), is the key contact to stakeholders in the graphics packaging process and a leader for the LDM team. This role combines end-to-end project management with leadership responsibilities, driving process improvements and ensuring financial accuracy. It is a senior, client-facing role requiring strategic oversight and hands-on project delivery, with a focus on delivering excellence for both the client and SGK.
Role and responsibilities
* Project & Client Management: Full accountability for the packaging project timeline from design briefing through to production at the factory. Host milestone meetings (kick-off, design reviews, artwork starts, post-implementation reviews). Maintain open and regular communication between stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project objectives. Establish budgets and estimates covering all costs including artwork, repro, CGI, and plates. Ensure risks are flagged early and milestones remain on track. Maintain category activity plans for visibility of peak volumes and potential clashes. Oversee the non-conformance process and corrective actions for SGK errors. Support weekly client catch-up calls, providing updates and identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Senior Responsibilities: Manage and balance the team’s workload, provide guidance and support. Resolve invoicing queries. Implement new processes or updates, ensuring smooth adoption and training. Maintain and update forecast documentation, including cost tracking (e.g., plate costs in the Connect Tracker), and communicate changes to the Account Director. Act as the first point of escalation for the team and escalate critical issues to the Account Director when needed. Support efficiency initiatives and updates to the strategic roadmap. Lead or support go-live, documentation, and training for Wave 3.0. Manage and update client Artwork Bill of Materials (ABOMBs) through the Wave artwork approval system, including Wave revenue recognition. Create and distribute the SGK newsletter. Provide updates to the client and internal teams to ensure transparency and alignment on workflow or process changes.
* Collaboration & Process Improvement: Partner with stakeholders across Marketing, Procurement, Design, Technical, Regulatory, and Print Partners. Identify and drive continuous improvement to optimize processes. Manage relationships and process improvements for third parties such as PepsiCo and print suppliers. Attend print trials, supplier visits, and instore reviews to ensure quality standards. Promote SGK services to maximize client benefit (e.g., Colour Lab).
Qualifications/Requirements
* Proven experience in critical path and end-to-end project management.
* Strong leadership and workload management skills.
* In-depth knowledge of production artwork, repro, CGI, design, and print.
* Financial acumen for budget creation, forecasting, and invoicing.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
* Highly adaptable and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong planning, time management, and attention to detail.
* Ability to handle complex client situations with professionalism.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and SAP; familiarity with project tracking tools.
