We’re looking for a talented Stewardship and Communications Manager to join our Philanthropy and Partnerships team at the British Red Cross. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how we engage, thank, and inspire our most valued supporters through innovative stewardship strategies and compelling communications.
What does a day in the life of a Stewardship and Communications Manager look like?
1. Develop and project manage the production of bespoke stewardship materials for high-value supporters - philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate and institutional partners.
2. Lead stewardship communications - including emergency appeals - collaborating with teams and stakeholders, securing approvals, capturing impact and shaping the development of future emergency stewardship communication
3. Develop and embed innovative stewardship tools and processes to empower fundraisers to deliver outstanding stewardship.
4. Build the stewardship programme with new ways to engage donors such as user generated film, immersive and in person experiences, digital updates and recognition projects .
5. Build stewardship and communication expertise across all high value fundraising teams, advising on high value supporter journeys and facilitating knowledge sharing
6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of stewardship activities, using insights to continuously improve.
What does it take to be an excellent Stewardship and Communications Manager?
7. Proven experience in donor stewardship, communications, or relationship management, ideally within a fundraising environment.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
9. Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
10. Experienced in developing measurement tools and using insights to drive improvement, including CRM systems for accurate data management and effective stewardship.
11. A creative mindset with an eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional supporter experiences.
12. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
