We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Fellow/Oncology Portfolio Lead to join the Sheffield Clinical Trials Research Unit (CTRU) to help us transform cancer care across the region. About the Role This role has been created following a prestigious multi-million-pound infrastructure grant. Your work will have a direct impact on patient outcomes. You will support the Academic Lead for Oncology Trials in building a sustainable pipeline of high-quality studies, ensuring that ambitious clinical ideas are translated into life-changing treatments. From overseeing complex oncology CTIMPs and navigating MHRA inspections to mentoring the next generation of trial managers and clinical fellows, you will lead a portfolio that prioritises innovation and equity. Who You Are We are looking for a specialist with a proven track record in project managing large, multi-centre clinical trials within an oncology setting. You will be a strategic collaborator who can bridge the gap between clinical investigators and methodological excellence. The ideal candidate will: ● Have a post-graduate degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant health-related area. ● Possess deep expertise in Oncology CTIMPs, including a sound understanding of cancer-specific pharmacovigilance and UK regulatory frameworks. ● Be a skilled communicator capable of winning major research grants and building strong relationships with Chief Investigators and patient panels. ● Demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity, using frameworks like INCLUDE to ensure trials reach underserved and socioeconomically disadvantaged populations. ● Be an inspiring mentor, ready to supervise and develop a growing team of trial staff. About the Department The Sheffield CTRU is a vibrant, multidisciplinary unit within the School of Medicine and Population Health.
