The Parish Council is seeking a self-motivated, highly organised and proactive Office Administrator to join the small and friendly staff team.
You will play a vital role within the team, requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a strong commitment to public service. Responsibilities are varied and most suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing multiple priorities.
Key responsibilities
* Efficient administrative support across all office functions
* Customer-facing point of contact, including handling booking enquiries
* Assistance to the RFO with financial administration
* Maintaining meticulous records, systems and databases
* Assistance with council meeting administration and document preparation
* Supporting colleagues and contributing positively as part of a team
* Identifying issues and delivering creative, practical solutions
About you
* Excellent IT, fast and accurate typing skills, confidence using software systems
* Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently using initiative with limited supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team
* Self‑motivated with excellent time management skills
* Financial administration experience is desirable (not essential) as well as an understanding of (or willingness to learn) council procedures and practices
* A reliable, flexible, problem solver with a positive, can‑do attitude

The role is part-time (30 hours/week) and office‑based from Monday to Friday, with occasional evening work (to cover absence/holiday). A full UK driving licence is required and a DBS check will be carried out.
The salary range is aligned with the National Joint Council Scale LC1 points 9 – 12 (£27,254 - £28,598 pro rata), commensurate with experience.
