The Opportunity:
We’re working with a fast-growing M&A and business brokerage firm looking to hire a Buy-Side Analyst to play a key role in their transaction support team. This is a research-intensive position ideal for someone who is analytical, commercially minded, and highly proactive. You’ll be responsible for building long lists of potential buyers and investors, analysing buyer fit, supporting targeted outreach, and maintaining accurate tracking across multiple mandates.
You’ll be working closely with senior leadership in a deal-driven environment, gaining broad exposure to M&A processes from origination through to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
* Research & Long List Development: Conduct deep desktop research to identify and map potential strategic and financial buyers tailored to each client engagement
* Buyer Analysis: Assess strategic fit, financial health, market positioning, and acquisition rationale to prioritise outreach
* Outreach & CRM Management: Coordinate structured outreach campaigns, personalise communications, and ensure all activity is tracked within the CRM (HubSpot preferred)
* Pipeline Support: Monitor and manage buyer pipelines, qualify inbound interest, and support the team with ongoing updates and reporting
* Transaction Support: Prepare buyer profiles, investment summaries, and teaser documents for live deals
* Reporting & Feedback: Compile weekly reports on engagement activity and buyer interest, while refining outreach strategies based on response rates
* Strategic Projects: Contribute to wider firm initiatives including research into sectors, investor groups, and M&A trends
Ideal Candidate:
* Recent graduate with a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related subject
* Exceptionally strong research and analytical skills
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Commercially aware with an interest in M&A, private equity, or corporate finance
* Strong communication skills – written and verbal
* Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools (HubSpot is a plus)
* Proactive, self-motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
* Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
