The Hastings and Havelock North isites provide the first point of welcome into our CBDs and the wider Hastings district. These high‑profile sites deliver a wide range of services to domestic and international visitors, as well as our local community.
We’re looking for an energetic, forward‑thinking Hastings Visitor Experience & isite Manager to take our isites to the next level. This is a hands‑on, strategic role where you’ll balance day‑to‑day operations with big‑picture thinking to make our isites exceptional, engaging, and fun places to visit.
You’ll lead and support the team, oversee revenue, retail and operations, and build strong relationships across the tourism sector. Using data and insight, you’ll identify business development opportunities and provide clear recommendations to drive growth across our two isites.
You’re a confident communicator with a genuine passion for visitor experience, comfortable with technology, reporting and analysis, and motivated by variety and responsibility.
This is a dynamic role offering scope, momentum, and the chance to make a real impact—within a supportive, progressive District Council (and yes, you’ll have fun along the way).

To be successful in this role you will have:
* A qualification in tourism, events, marketing or communications (desirable), with significant experience in a similar role
* Strong understanding of tourism, visitor needs, and delivering outstanding customer experiences
* Proven people leadership skills, with the ability to build and motivate high‑performing teams
* Sound financial and commercial capability, with a focus on growth and profitability
* A creative, innovative mindset balanced with practical problem‑solving and delivery
* Strong relationship‑building skills and a genuine passion for promoting Heretaunga Hastings and Hawke’s Bay
