This is a newly created role within the Hounslow Children’s Therapy Services.
The Children’s Therapy Services includes Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy that provides a specialist service for babies, children and young people (BCYP) within the London Borough of Hounslow (0-19).
We provide a high-quality Children’s OT/PT/SLT services for BCYP in Hounslow, ensuring equitable and responsive service provision, withafocusonreducingthe inequalitygapforchildrenandyoungpeoplepredictedtohavethepooresthealthoutcomes.
We aim to instigate and promote a quality improvement approach to service development toensureclinicalservicesaredeliveredinlinewithnewguidelinesandbestpractise meeting the needstothelocal population
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Service Lead will develop and maintain strong working relationships with local partners such as Commissioners, Parent Carer Forum (PCF), Children’sCentres / Family Hubs (FH),schools, nurseries,SocialCare, Portage, Hounslow Youth Council, Hounslow Youth Justice Service, Physical Disability (PD) Team, SENSS TeamandSENeducationcolleagueswithinthe London Borough ofHounslow (LBH).
They will provide a visible professional presence and strong clinical leadership that serviceusers, staff and other professionals can access for assistance, advice and support. They will alsoleadinplanning,presentingandevaluationoftrainingasrequiredinrelationto OT/PT/SLTtopics.

The post holder would be based at Heart of Hounslow and will be required to commute to schools within the borough, as required.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Graduate Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy/Speech and Language Therapy
2. Registered with Health Professions Council - HCPC
3. Member of Royal College of OT – RCOT/ Chartered Society of Physiotherapy – CSP / Royal College of SLT – RCSLT
4. Leadership and management qualification or equivalent
5. Supervision/Coaching/Mentoring
Desirable criteria
6. Evidence of relevant in-depth postgraduate study or qualification at a level equivalent to a Masters where it exists
7. Membership of relevant Clinical Interest Group / Special Interest Group
Experience
Essential criteria
8. Significant and relevant level of post graduate experience including at least 5 years in Paediatrics /Children’s
9. Significant level of NHS experience
10. Significant experience of developing others through CPD / PDP/ clinical supervision
11. Experience of co-producing and implementing complex change in a clinical setting
12. Significant experience of working as part of a Paediatric Therapy Team and/or multi-disciplinary team
Desirable criteria
13. Experience of analysis and investigation of incidents
Knowledge &Skills
Essential criteria
14. Knowledge of common childhood conditions and their impact on function e.g. Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X.
15. Knowledge of a range of appropriate intervention approaches with a paediatric caseload, including those used in education settings and with parents
16. Knowledge of relevant assessment tools relevant to the client group
17. Working knowledge of safety and governance frameworks and standards (including confidentiality / freedom of information / Caldicott regulations / CQC essential standards)
18. Able to demonstrate a commitment to the West London values
19. Excellent organisational skills.
20. Ability to manage own time and prioritise
21. Drive and enthusiasm for clinical excellence using EBP and clinical networks.
22. Good level of computer skills and experience of using databases and spreadsheets
