Job Description:
The Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Service Group seeks a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to work within the multidisciplinary community Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
The Service provides a wide range of community and inpatient services, including Perinatal, Child & Adolescent, Adult, Older People, Rehabilitation, Substance Misuse, Forensic, and Learning Disabilities Services.
The successful candidate will join a clinical team comprising consultant psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, therapists, and other medical staff to deliver SBU Community CAMHS as part of the CAMHS Directorate. The service covers Part 1 and Part 2 of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure (2010), including Primary Mental Health Support, liaison with schools and local authorities, and a Crisis Team. It collaborates closely with Community Paediatrics, Adult Mental Health Services, and local authority partners in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. It also links with the Early Intervention Psychosis team and the Neurodevelopmental Service. Inpatient services are provided regionally at Ty Llidiard Adolescent Inpatient Unit in Bridgend.

Qualifications
Essential
* Registered with the GMC
* Licensed to practice
* On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or eligible for CCT within 6 months of interview, having passed exit exam or recognized qualification from a European Member State allowing direct GMC registration
* Teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education
* Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff and management
* Experience in service improvement and research in CAMHS
* Specific interests or experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
* Leadership skills and team working capabilities
* Understanding of Prudent Healthcare principles
* Excellent communication skills
* Knowledge of information systems and improvement methodologies
