The role
Join a school where creativity meets innovation. At Notting Hill & Ealing High School, we are expanding our Design & Technology provision and are looking for a D&T Technician who thrives in a hands-on, workshop-based role.
You will play a key part in the day-to-day running of our dynamic D&T Department, supporting both staff and students in a creative and practical environment. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing materials for lessons
* Maintaining tools and equipment
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
* Managing stock levels and inventories
* Providing technical assistance to pupils and staff as needed
About You
We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in Design & Technology, particularly in Resistant Materials. A strong working knowledge of workshop equipment such as bandsaws, scroll saws, polishers, drill presses, and disc sanders is essential. You will also be familiar with CAD, CAM, laser cutting, and 3D printing. The ability to maintain and operate machinery, manage resources efficiently, and support students with their projects will be key to your success in this role.

D&T at NHEHS
D&T at Notting Hill & Ealing High School is currently focused on Product Design, with a particular emphasis on timber and polymers. Our facilities are modern and well-equipped, including a traditional main workshop and a new STEM room (Engineering Design Suite) used for prototyping and modelling. The department has access to state-of-the-art equipment, including two laser cutters (one of which is a newly acquired 100W A1 Spirit), four 3D printers including a new Ultimaker S5, a CNC router, and our own bank of laptops.
