If you’re an Employment Solicitor who enjoys the cut and thrust of tribunal work but also values genuine client relationships and commercially focused advisory work, this one is well worth your attention. I’m working with a leading UK law firm, deeply established in Scotland and operating throughout the UK, that is looking to appoint a Senior Solicitor (2 PQE) into its top-tier Employment and Immigration team. This is a practice that is consistently recognised for the quality of its employment offering and advises an impressive client base across the UK and internationally. The team covers the full employment spectrum, from day-to-day HR advisory work through to complex, high-value litigation, and they are now keen to add another ambitious solicitor who wants high-quality work, real responsibility and proper long-term progression. The role itself is broad, engaging and very hands-on. You will be front and centre in employment litigation, drafting ET3 responses, preparing and reviewing witness statements, analysing evidence, managing pre-hearing processes and appearing at Employment Tribunals. Alongside contentious matters, you’ll provide strategic HR advice, support clients with employee relations challenges, draft and review contracts and workplace policies, negotiate settlement agreements and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions. You will also have the opportunity to deliver client training and collaborate closely with colleagues across other teams when employment issues arise within wider mandates. Crucially, this is not just about technical delivery. You’ll be encouraged to build relationships, get involved in business development initiatives and contribute to the ongoing growth of a highly regarded employment practice. There is also scope to support and mentor more junior colleagues, helping to shape the next generation within the team. The wider firm is modern, progressive and genuinely forward-thinking. Over the past few years, there has been a very conscious shift towards creating a more sustainable working environment for solicitors. Carefully managed and realistic billable hour expectations, smarter resourcing and a clear focus on wellbeing mean you can deliver excellent work without sacrificing balance. It’s a culture built on collaboration, inclusion and long-term career development, where high performance is matched by proper support. Beyond the day job, the firm is deeply committed to making a positive impact through pro bono work, charitable initiatives and meaningful diversity and inclusion programmes. It’s a business that understands reputation is built on both legal excellence and responsible leadership. If you’re an Employment Solicitor, either Edinburhg or Glasgow based, with solid commercial experience who is ready for a role that offers quality work, strong progression prospects and a healthier approach to practice, I’d be delighted to have a confidential chat.
