Overview

The Leisure Club at Whittlebury Park is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Membership Manager. This role is ideal for someone wanting to either go into management for the first time or develop existing talents further. We are currently looking for a person who is passionate about the hospitality, sales and leisure industry and who has a proven record of accomplishment in sales.


Responsibilities

* Achieve Leisure Club, Spa and Golf membership revenue against budget and year on year growth.
* Achieve membership experience score KPI's and maintain these.
* Ensure membership cancellation budget is met and retention KPI's are better than budget and year on year improvement.
* Present and implement new membership initiatives to develop the membership product, increasing revenue, retention and member satisfaction.
* Potentially lead and manage a team of membership consultants to help them achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets.
* Potentially lead and manage a team of leisure club receptionists to deliver impeccable standards, ensure full staffing coverage of opening hours, remain commercially aware and demonstrate strong leadership in staff matters.
* Show initiative in dealing with a membership base/group to protect and develop the membership product.
* Demonstrate strong leadership and management when handling staff and member queries and complaints.
* Develop and adhere to membership reporting deadlines to show constant development of the membership business and to highlight trends of success or concern.
* Make day-to-day decisions on the running of the Leisure Club, Spa and Golf membership office.


What does a typical day look like?

Working a 40-hour week, you will set up and deliver daily KPI's, including a minimum amount of calls, lead generation activities, appointments and sales. You will be responsible for delivering a new member and retention target each day by breaking down the revenue and member budgets into an achievable daily total. You will adjust daily appointment levels as needed to address downward trends that could impact weekly and monthly KPI achievement. You will present weekly and monthly sales plans to The Head of VC and Membership Sales, showing how all revenue lines will be achieved and implementing this plan to a daily setup. You will deploy membership and reception staff to assist with increasing membership revenue through lead generation activities. You will handle membership queries quickly and efficiently on a daily basis.

Demonstrating determination to excel is important and can be achieved through: delivering and over achieving in all responsible reporting lines, implementing new commercial strategies to enhance revenue or guest satisfaction, being personally mentioned in member and guest feedback channels, over delivering with reports and tasks set by the Leisure Club Management team, and earning recognition from peers and staff.


Additional information

This Job Description cannot be exhaustive due to the requirements of the hotel industry. The role holder may be required to carry out reasonable tasks requested by management from time to time. This position is open to candidates who are passionate about hospitality, sales and leisure with a proven sales record.
