THE ROLE: The Group Tax Manager supports the Head of Tax in managing the tax compliance for the entire New Look group, this includes management of the Tax and Customs team to ensure that all taxes customs duties and ESG environment levies are calculated correctly and filed on time. Quarterly tax forecasting and annual tax reporting and management of the effective tax rate of the group & cash taxes paid (which both have a direct impact on the valuation of the business and share price) in compliance with UK and local tax legislation in each jurisdiction of operation. Enjoy an extra paid day off on your birthday each year Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave, and shared parental leave (eligible after 2 years service) Spread the cost of your commute with interest-free season ticket loans Do your bit for the environment and save money with our Cycle2Work scheme We're proud to partner with the Retail Trust and Fashion & Textile Children's Trust WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: High level accountability sits with this role for management of the tax team to ensure New Look is tax compliant in all areas (VAT Corporate Tax, Employment Taxes, Customs Duties), ongoing maintenance and review of the tax strategy, risk register and tax contribution Working with other areas of finance, corporate governance and risk, HR and legal to manage all taxes and associated costs – those covered by UK legislation; Senior Accounting Officer “SAO” reporting requirements (e.g corporate tax, VAT, customs duties, payroll taxes) Ensure tax efficiency (reporting, advisory and compliance) across all UK and International Group companies Provide advice and set policy for wider finance and divisional functions on interpretation and compliance with UK tax legislation and co-ordinate provision of the same advice for overseas territories WHO YOU ARE: Qualified ACA/CTA with at least 5yrs post qualification experience Big 4 Senior Manager/Manager with in-house/industry experience Broad ranging /in-depth technical tax knowledge and accounting experience. A highly judgemental role which requires cross functional knowledge taking into account New Look’s unique circumstances to evaluate and advise on strategy with long term paybacks.
