Your Role
As the Transport Supervisor, you will coordinate an effective, responsive, and safe transport support service and ensure the business achieves set KPIs for the transport operation.
Your Responsibilities
* Assist the Distribution Manager in organising operations of the transportation department, including managing drivers and volunteers, scheduling routes, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and people.
* Implement transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure the safety and security of passengers, drivers, and goods, including implementing measures to prevent accidents, theft, and other incidents.
* Collaborate with other departments within the organization, including retail, Vinnies, and customer service, to coordinate transportation activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transportation activities, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, and delivery receipts. Record damages to society vehicles via the proper channels.
* Train and supervise transportation personnel, including drivers as needed.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advances, and regulatory changes related to transportation and logistics.
You Will Need
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
* Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements, including DIFOT.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data and identify trends to improve transportation operations.
* Proficiency in transportation management software, GPS tracking systems, and other relevant technology.
* Experience working in a membership-based organisation to support and empower members and volunteers.
