Service Maintenance Technician - Electrical at Tesco (across Warwickshire and Leicestershire). You will be part of a skilled team carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment to keep stores safe, functional, and welcoming for customers and colleagues.
Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You will use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, prioritising safety, compliance, and quality. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. Responsibilities
* Confidently interact with external contractors: coordinating repairs seamlessly.
* Work collaboratively with the team: contribute to quality service and knowledge sharing.
* Sustain high energy levels: manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Assist the management team: maintain equipment and facilities to keep stores operating smoothly.
* Minimise customer disruption: coordinate repairs with minimal impact on customers.
* Ensure Tesco sites are safe and functioning for customers and colleagues.
* Follow the planned work schedule to achieve first-time fix, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
* Work closely with team members, sharing best practice.
* General day-to-day store and property maintenance.
* Use mobile devices (phone/tablet) to drive work completion and updates.
* Represent the Tesco brand by upholding core values and wearing the Tesco uniform with pride.
* Attend local and national meetings, providing input and feedback.
* Support a diverse and inclusive culture.
What you will need
As a vital part of our Maintenance team, you should show enthusiasm for maintaining high standards. With previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment, you will be digitally confident using a tablet to view schedules and manage emails.
Operational skills
* Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent trade proficiency
* Basic diagnostics for PCB/Microprocessor/HMI controlled systems
* Electrical safety knowledge, fault finding and replacement
* EICR remedial knowledge
* Full driving license
* Health & Safety awareness
* Communication & stakeholder management
* Office 365 knowledge
Required qualifications
* City & Guilds Level 3 – Electrical (or Equivalent)
* Apprenticeship/Improver programme
* EICR remedial works experience
Preferred qualifications
* City & Guilds Inspection & Testing
* ECoPs
* City & Guilds 18th Edition
* MEWP/IPAF Licence
