Regional Sales & Commercial Manager – Scotland
Construction Distribution & Aligned Routes to Market | Circa £90,000 Package Year One
The Business
A growth-driven, acquisition-led distribution group operating multiple established brands and approximately 10 branches across Scotland is seeking a commercially capable regional leader.
The organisation operates within the construction distribution route to market and adjacent sectors with similar trading dynamics. It is entrepreneurial in culture and performance-led in mindset.
Branch Managers operate as commercially biased mini-MDs. They carry full responsibility for revenue, margin and working capital. Commercial accountability is visible and expected.
This role strengthens that culture at regional level.
The Role
You will operate across Scotland, providing commercial leadership support to the branch network.
Scotland-wide travel is a core part of the role.
This is not an operational management position.
It is not counter supervision.
It is not internal administration.
It is about commercial performance.
You will:
• Review branch P&L performance and margin trends
• Challenge pricing integrity and discount control
• Identify profitable growth opportunities
• Support strategic account development
• Influence and support Branch Managers
• Drive consistency of commercial standards across brands
You will not directly manage the branches. Influence comes from commercial credibility and the ability to improve outcomes.
About You
You already understand branch economics.
You are comfortable reading a P&L. You understand the relationship between turnover, gross margin and working capital.
You may currently be:
• A Senior Sales Manager within construction distribution
• A high-performing BDM operating within a similar route to market
• A commercially strong Branch Manager with a clear sales bias
• A senior sales professional in an aligned sector selling into contractors, trade customers or project-led environments
You are likely already influencing pricing, margin and commercial decisions, even if that is not formally recognised in your title.
You want broader exposure without stepping into pure operations.
You want regional visibility.
You want commercial responsibility.
The Package
• £70,000 basic salary
• £20,000 OTE guaranteed in year one
• Bonus thereafter linked to regional performance
• Company car
• Private healthcare
• Executive-level benefits
Total package circa £90,000 in year one.
The Opportunity
You will gain exposure across approximately 10 branches within a growing, acquisition-led group.
For a commercially ambitious senior sales professional, this is the move from strong performer to recognised regional commercial leader.
