Our client, a specialist retail group based in Preston with a £50m turnover and offices across Europe, is entering an exciting period of growth. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking to appoint a Management Accountant to build out the finance function and work closely with the Financial Controller as the business scales.
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
About the Role - Reporting into the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of month end reporting and develop a small team of 2 Accounts Assistants.
Your Core Responsibilities in the Management Accountant Position Will Include:
* Ownership of month-end close and preparation of management accounts
* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
* Cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
* Providing insightful commentary to help drive decision-making
* Take ownership of VAT return preparation, review, and submission, maintaining strong compliance and audit trails
* Line management and development of two direct reports
* Oversee effective Accounts Payable processing
* Drive continuous improvements across processes, controls and reporting
Key Skills and Experience Required -
* ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified (QBE also considered with strong experience)
* Proven month-end reporting and analysis skills
* Previous experience in a Management Accountant role
* Confident ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
* An interest in developing people and shaping a growing finance team
