We currently have an amazing opportunity for a Calibration Technician, to join our Automatic Stacking Crane (ASC) engineering department. This role will report to the ASC Team Leader and will be working a day shift position (12 hour shifts), covering weekdays and weekends which will include:

2 days, 2 off, 3 days, 2 off, 2 days, 3 off

The Calibration Technician is responsible for performing precise calibration, verification, and adjustment of critical sensors and measurement systems on site equipment, mainly Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs). This role ensures equipment operates within defined tolerances to maintain safety, reliability, and optimal automation performance.

About The Role
How will you contribute:

1. Review daily Crane KPI information to identify potential performance issues. Investigation of these issues and book in calibration activities with planners accordingly
2. Collect measurements and analysis data, trends and KPI figures on the ASCs. Using this data to plan appropriate calibration tasks and liaising with the ASC Team Leader and Engineering Planners, to proficiently execute the plan set, working around other maintenance activities and operational equipment demands.
3. Collate and present data driven analysis and corrective actions required to key business stakeholders.
4. Calibrate and adjust key ASC components and software such as encoders, loadcell sensors, load positioning systems (LPMS), and truck lane measuring systems.
5. Perform periodic verification of calibration settings in accordance with OEM specifications, site-specific operational and any legal requirements.
6. Record and maintain accurate calibration logs and reports, including traceability to standards.
7. Assist with root cause analysis and troubleshooting of automation faults and underperforming equipment or processes.
8. Collaborate with engineering and automation teams to support software alignment with physical sensor data.
9. Ensure compliance with site safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout/Try Out (LOTOTO) procedures, and equipment isolation requirements during calibration tasks.
10. Support the introduction of new cranes and equipment by performing initial setup and baseline calibration checks.
11. Provide feedback on calibration practices to improve maintenance strategies and extend equipment uptime.
12. Provide support/input to improve/develop and update PM task lists for current and new equipment.
13. Lead by example and encourage other to implement/improve safe working procedures and practices.
14. Assist in day-to-day Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities to ensure MMBF targets are met.
15. Compile and distribute status reports at the end of the shift.

What will you Bring.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

16. National Qualifications Framework – Level 3 Qualification or higher.
17. Excellent knowledge of equipment maintenance/engineering.
18. Previous use of laser measuring equipment (Theodolite) and or PLC's
19. Professionally qualified in either an electrical or mechanical discipline.
20. Proficient in the operations of IT software and office applications including Excel
21. Experience and knowledge of HSE regulations related to equipment maintenance and activities.
22. Excellent communication and personal skills.
23. Excellent team player.
24. Dynamic, creative, and innovative

NOTE: All our roles are subject to the below:

25. Eligibility to work in the UK.
26. A full valid UK driving licence.
27. No unspent criminal convictions
28. Able to meet the safety critical medical and fitness requirements of the role which include but are not limited to, weight (max of 130kg), height, blood pressure, hearing & certain food allergies.
