The Western Learning Federation is looking to appoint an innovative Deputy Head of School for Woodlands School and we are seeking expressions of interest for the post. The role will be to support the Executive leadership team and Acting Head of School by leading in its continued efforts to ensure excellence in the quality of the provision and the learning and wellbeing outcomes for all pupils. Candidates will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of the opportunities that will help shape our educational provision. In addition to this, it is also a very exciting time for Western Learning Federation and Woodlands as we embark on our move to a new state of the art building and expand our number on pupil roll. Our offsite provision and College opportunities are a positive addition to our current offer for our pupils. The exposure to sports activities and qualifications from working with a range of projects are bringing a real sense of purpose for our pupils. We are continually looking for new opportunities of working with external partners to ensure the ‘Learning for Living’ Curriculum is achieved in Woodlands.
In our recent Estyn inspection, some of the wonderful feedback we received in relation to our leadership team is ‘The culture at Woodlands is one that focuses on the continued reflection, enquiry and evidence based professional learning to inform practice. This contributes well to the school’s universal vision of “learning for living”.
As part of the Western Learning Federation, Woodlands School offers a bespoke professional learning offer for all leadership postings. This ensures that staff have the right skills set to provide the best possible experiences for our pupils and staff have the right skills to provide the best possible care and support for pupils with additional needs.
Woodlands School supports pupils aged 11-19 with a variety of additional learning needs including speech, communication and language difficulties, autistic spectrum condition, severe learning difficulties and physical and medical needs. Woodlands school is a caring and nurturing community that provides valuable care support and guidance for its pupils.
