Summary By joining us as an apprentice, you will be able to study for your professional qualifications whilst working as part of a team for clients as groups, companies and sole traders, as well as gaining auditing experience. We will fully support your tuition fees to study towards the appropriate qualifications and provide paid time off for study days. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you'll do at work Part of your role will involve assisting in the day-to-day financial activities. These will include, but are not limited to, preparation of year-end financial accounts and tax returns, monthly or quarterly VAT returns, management accounts and other data entry support for clients. Responsibilities will include: Assisting with financial and management accounts preparation for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies Assisting with managing client expectations and deadlines Assisting with the preparation of personal and business tax returns Carrying out bookkeeping activities, including journal postings and ledger reconciliations Processing client records accurately using Xero, QuickBooks and other accountancy software such as IRIS Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts Assisting with general administrative duties, including meeting and greeting clients, filing, answering the telephone and supporting the team to meet deadlines as required Where you'll work 22-26 King Street King's Lynn PE30 1HJ Training Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes. Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts. Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts. Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations. Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders. Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand. Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications. Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data. Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications. Training schedule Apprentices will usually begin with AAT Level 3 which may include some Level 2 AAT Bookeepping modules if appropriate Training will take place in Norwich or Cambridge at a dedicated study centre Study / training days at this level are generally once a week for a few weeks at a time and dates are given in advance for the duration of the course There may be a few weeks with no study depending on the qualification More training information If you are already in training, the next appropriate level of qualification will be discussed and agreed Requirements Essential qualifications A Level in: English Language (grade A-C) Maths (grade A-C) Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
