Scottish Power Transmissions are looking for an Interface & Engineering Project Manager to join them on an ongoing contract basis.

Role Purpose
Personal accountability for coordinating internal and external engineering interface activities.
Ensuring the accurate and timely flow of information between all parties from concept design to detail design and project handover.
Participate in the implementation of engineering processes and exchange of information through new tools such as ACC and BIM.
Coordination of interfaces with Strategic Agreement Framework EPC contractors and OEMs accountable for the coordination and provision of engineering information and interfaces.
Responsibilities
* Engineering Interface Manager is responsible for the management of all engineering information, such as drawings, surveys, layouts etc that is needed for all project activities from concept design to delivery. Information could be received in any format and from several resources.
* The management of output information from EPC contractors and OEM suppliers ensuring timely transfer of data between parties to ensure deliverables and programme timelines are maintained.
* Participate in weekly/monthly meetings to ensure interfaces and engineering coordination between different contractors are managed and any interface/design risks are highlighted and recorded.
* Setting up of interface meetings between framework contractors, OEM suppliers and other SPEN functions such as Asset Management and Standards to ensure information requirements and agreed and provided in a timely manner and interface risks are recorded and mitigated.
* Ensure delivery is de-risked with input to early stages of design with EPC contractors and provision of accurate and timely information.
* Coordination with other SPT/SPD projects such as connections or asset modernization, ensuring efficiencies in design, delivery and system access by working with the various stakeholders and engineering team.
* Lead on Strategic Projects Initiatives e.g., new tools, systems, and approaches to exploit new technologies such as BIM, ACC to develop new solutions with contractors and across the business.
* Preparation/Review of design and on-site drawings ensuring up to date information is shared with relevant contractors and project teams. This could involve site visits and coordination with drawing office and other projects.
* Key technical interface with Strategic Agreement Framework EPC contractors and support the engineering team in the coordination of design deliverables, assurances and standardized approach across Strategic Projects Portfolio.
* Capable of delivering new and advanced engineering solutions to enable accelerate delivery of Strategic Projects HND ASTI projects.
* Support the implementation of SPT standards and policies ensuring alignment with Strategic Project delivery.
* Ensure OEM drawing for any equipment that free issued (Transformers and GIS) or ordered via frameworks (CBs, CTs, VTs, disconnectors etc) are provided to relevant parties in a timely manner.
* Ensuring design changes are agreed and approved through the change management processes.
* Participate and direct cross-discipline transfer of expertise with fellow Engineers, acting as a key link for interactivity with other engineering experts/departments and enable holistic technical decisions.
* Support engineering reviews governance, assurance and approval for EPC designs and calculations by utilising new tools and procedures such as BIM.
* Continuous engagement with project managers in development and delivery with regards to programme, design deliverable, design progress, changes and provision of data and information.
* Represent the Strategic engineering team position and interests at various internal and external forums at working and senior levels. Such as transformational changes within SPEN or at various project boards.
Skills/Experience/Capabilities
* Engineering qualification (BSc/BEng) or relevant experience.
* Experience in working in an EPC environment with multiple contractors and disciplines in a coordination or management role.
* Experience in working with CDE tools such as ACC and ProjectWise.
* Ability to understand and coordinate the transfer of information between interested parties in a rigorous and timely manner.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with SME from all engineering disciplines (Substations, Civils, Protection and Control and OHL), drawing office and BIM team.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work with project managers, contractors, OEM suppliers and senior management.
* Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in working in dynamic project environments and ensuring availability of data an information to maintain programme and project delivery.
* Ability to prioritise and manage a diverse and demanding workload
* Lead by example and drive transformational change by introducing improvements and efficiencies to current processes and recommending new processes.
* Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to monitor engineering performance against critical KPIs such as responses to TQs and RFIs.
