About The Role

Do you enjoy and feel confident talking to groups of people? Are you interested in the provision of healthcare for people affected by dementia? If so, becoming a Time for Dementia volunteer might be just the role for you!

This is a community role so you will need to be based near one of our universities which are Brighton, Kent, Southampton, Bristol, Chichester, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Belfast

The Time for Dementia education programme is run by Alzheimer's Society and is designed to improve the knowledge, attitude and empathy of future healthcare professionals. By attending community groups and sharing information about the programme, you will be encouraging families affected by dementia to come forward to participate in the Time for Dementia programme.

You’ll identify and contact local community groups, such as Dementia Cafes, to ask if you can go along to talk about the Time for Dementia programme. You’ll then attend these groups to share information about the programme and collect the contact details of any family who may be interested in taking part. One of our Time for Dementia Officerswill then follow up on the leads that you’ve gathered.
