Pig Stock Person Location: Caldecote FarmContract: Full-time We are looking for a committed and motivated Pig Stock Person to join our pig production team. This is a hands-on role where you will play a vital part in raising high-health piglets and ensuring our gilts and sows receive the highest standards of care and welfare. You will work closely with the Farm Supervisor and wider team, taking ownership of daily tasks while remaining flexible and supportive of team priorities. Key Responsibilities Carry out daily stockperson and farm labouring duties across all aspects of pig husbandry. Ensure all pigs have constant access to fresh water and feed, minimising feed wastage. Feed pigs in line with agreed daily feeding plans and specific diets. Move livestock safely and correctly in line with standard operating procedures. Monitor pig health, welfare and performance, reporting concerns promptly to the Farm Supervisor. Assist with artificial insemination following relevant training. Monitor and adjust environmental controls within farm facilities. Maintain accurate and compliant farm records, ensuring all legislative and company requirements are met. Support pig movements by liaising with relevant stakeholders and maintaining accurate records. Ensure timely availability of consumables including feed, straw and supplies. Remove manure and soiled bedding daily and maintain clean, hygienic environments. Administer and accurately record any required medications in line with welfare standards and codes of practice. Report and record mortalities and casualty animals and ensure legal and compliant disposal. Assist with the loading and unloading of pigs when required. Clean and disinfect buildings and equipment safely and effectively. Carry out routine maintenance, ground keeping tasks and any additional duties as directed. Work safely at all times, following COSHH, Health & Safety requirements and risk assessments. What We’re Looking For A full UK driving licence. Experience with livestock or a background in agriculture (desirable). A strong work ethic with the determination to meet and exceed expectations. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and complete tasks accurately. Numerate, with confidence in collecting and recording data. Willingness to learn and develop new skills, including operating farm machinery (training provided). A keen interest in pig farming and a genuine commitment to animal welfare. Why Join Us?
