Electrical Day Engineer Location: Sunderland, SR3 3XW (with regional travel) Hours of work: 40 Contract Type: Permanent We are seeking an experienced Electrical Day Engineer to carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works within a facilities management environment. You will ensure all electrical and mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with statutory regulations and company standards. Job Description We are looking for a fully electrically qualified engineer who takes pride in delivering a high‑quality service, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and works collaboratively with clients, managers and contractors to maintain an excellent working environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out scheduled inspections, PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment in line with relevant codes, drawings and manufacturer instructions Diagnose faults through observation, testing and troubleshooting, dismantling equipment and replacing defective components as required Test, calibrate and commission systems using appropriate test equipment and precision measuring instruments Plan and organise work activities, selecting suitable methods, materials and techniques to complete tasks efficiently Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies and site procedures at all times Complete maintenance records, review work orders, estimate time and materials, and order parts where necessary Monitor contractor performance, undertake contractor control duties and issue Permits to Work Identify facilities-related issues, suggest service improvements and ensure service levels are met or exceeded Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications Proven experience in PPM and reactive maintenance within a facilities management environment Experience in providing mechanical building services maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance, installation, and inspection/testing Fully electrically qualified Full UK driving licence required to travel between client sites Be mindful of material costs and highlight any concerns to line management or the service desk The Company ISS is a world-leading workplace and facility management company, connecting people and places to make the world work better.
