Senior Energy Manager

We are recruiting a fixed term Senior Energy Manager to join our friendly and supportive team, working to develop and deliver projects to decarbonise our energy use and create energy cost savings.

You will have line management responsibilities for our Building Management System Engineer and take authority for leading the Energy Team. The role is ideal for someone with experience of energy or mechanical systems who wants to take on more responsibility and gain exposure to senior management.
You will need to attend the Bristol site on some days each week, with occasional travel to Weston-Super-Mare. This role offers flexible working from home and allows you to manage your own schedule.
This role can be offered with flexible working hours or on a part-time basis. If you have childcare commitments or cannot work on a specific weekday, we can accommodate this. We would also consider part-time hours.
Main duties of the job
* Actively monitoring and managing energy use across our entire estate.
* Developing and implementing decarbonisation and energy-saving projects.
* Overseeing our building management system maintenance contractor.
* Managing our energy assets including solar PV, district heating network and CHP engines.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Qualification in relevant discipline to undergraduate degree level or equivalent work experience.
* Qualification in relevant discipline to postgraduate degree level or equivalent work experience.
* Membership of an appropriate professional body.
Experience
* Experience of managing energy in a large organisation.
* Knowledge of methods to optimise energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Experience of conducting energy, building or plant audits.
* Knowledge of relevant UK, EU, and NHS regulations.
Skills
* Ability to collect, manipulate and analyse data on complex datasets.
* Ability to manage direct reports in the Energy Team.
* Ability to drive progress in complicated organisations.
