About The Role
Join our brilliant and friendly team as a Clinical Director delivering the clinical experience element of our postgraduate programme and contributing to our high‑quality research profile. You will become part of a dedicated team of academics who deliver the Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
The programme is provided in partnership with local clinical psychologists in Shropshire and Staffordshire. The framework focuses on the impact of society and context on psychological well‑being, with emphasis on prevention, early intervention, innovative practice, and critical contextual thinking. Service users and carers contribute to and influence all aspects of delivery.
We seek enthusiastic, team‑orientated, and flexible individuals with experience in a clinical psychology training programme and/or Higher Education. Leadership experience in NHS or clinical roles is advantageous. Applicants must hold a clinical psychology qualification, be registered with the Health and Care Professions’ Council, and have current knowledge of clinical practice. A minimum of five years post‑qualification experience and an enthusiasm for training are required. A track record of publications is desirable.
Main Responsibilities
* Oversee the clinical strand of the programme.
* Participate in academic and research strands as appropriate.
* Work with clinical tutors to manage placement allocations, quality monitoring, and development of trainee clinical experience.
* Coordinate supervisor training and support.
* Engage in research supervision of Doctoral trainees and deliver teaching relevant to your expertise.
* Report directly to the Programme Director and hold line‑management responsibility for clinical tutors.
