Classroom teachers from September 2026
Middleton is a vibrant, culturally diverse and very friendly school. There are currently 630 children on roll from F2-Y6 and up to 78 children in our part-time Nursery.
Due to retirements of several long-serving members of staff, a relocation and a maternity leave we are in the unusual (but exciting!) position of recruiting simultaneously for a number of full-time teaching posts from September. Some of the posts would be suitable for Early Career Teachers but we are interested in hearing from more experienced teachers too. The positions span from Reception to Key Stage 2 so, if you do apply, please note in the letter to candidates that it asks you to specify your preferred phase of teaching. If you are interested in applying, we would strongly urge you to visit before doing so to have a look round and see the school for yourself – details below. If you are unable to visit, feel free to email and arrange for a phone call with one of the Senior Leadership Team instead.
At our most recent inspection in February 2023, Ofsted judged us to be ‘Good’. The report commented that “pupils are polite and considerate of one another. Pupils value their learning and know it is important. They are respectful to adults and adults are respectful to them.” We have accreditation as a UNICEF ‘Rights Respecting School’, recognising the importance that we place on creating an inclusive and caring school community with children’s wellbeing and rights at the heart of everything we do. We are currently the only school in Nottingham to hold the RRS Gold Award. We also hold the International Schools Award; this recognises how we foster a global dimension in our curriculum and aim to promote cultural understanding to help children prepare for their future in today’s world. We are fortunate to have extensive grounds providing children with excellent opportunities for outdoor learning and creative and active play – with the beautiful surroundings of Wollaton Hall and Park on our doorstep too.
The successful candidate will:
1. Have a commitment and passion for education based on the values of respect, dignity, inclusion and non-discrimination that underpin our rights respecting schools’ ethos.
2. Work effectively as part of a team and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Be skilled and nurturing in working with young children, helping them to develop their learning, self-esteem and confidence.
4. Have a positive, solution-driven attitude, showing flexibility and initiative in their approach to the role.
In return, Middleton can offer:
5. Happy, friendly and enthusiastic children who enjoy coming to school and learning.
6. A supportive and vibrant school community.
7. A caring ethos that values everyone and where kindness and respect are a priority.
8. A team of hardworking and dedicated staff who are highly supportive of one another.
9. A commitment from school leaders and governors to your well-being and professional development.
